L-PRF therapy

L-PRF healing support for implant and grafting visits.

L-PRF stands for leukocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin. During selected surgical visits, a small amount of the patient's blood can be drawn and spun in a centrifuge to create a fibrin membrane or plug that contains platelets, white blood cells, and growth-factor-rich fibrin.

Dental Arts may discuss L-PRF when it could support natural healing around extraction sockets, bone grafts, sinus lift sites, ridge augmentation, and implant-related procedures.

Where It May Fit

  • Socket preservation after tooth extraction.
  • Bone grafting or ridge augmentation before implant placement.
  • Sinus lift healing support when the diagnosis fits.
  • Immediate implant or implant surgery sites where soft-tissue support matters.
  • Patients who want to understand biologic healing options before surgery.

Typical L-PRF Workflow

  1. Review health history, medications, and surgical plan.
  2. Draw a small blood sample at the visit when appropriate.
  3. Spin the sample in a centrifuge to separate fibrin.
  4. Prepare the L-PRF membrane, plug, or clot.
  5. Place it with the surgical site, graft, or socket as planned.
  6. Review post-op instructions and healing checks.

Important Notes

L-PRF is not a stand-alone replacement for diagnosis, infection control, careful surgery, bone grafting, or good home care. It is an adjunct that may be recommended only when the clinical situation, health history, and treatment goals make sense.

Fotona Laser Dentistry Applications

Fotona dental laser workflows may support multiple areas of care when the diagnosis fits: periodontal therapy, peri-implant tissue support, oral surgery, soft-tissue contouring, frenectomy, lesion care, TMJ comfort workflows, NightLase, and SWEEPS-assisted endodontic irrigation.

Laser care is planned around the tooth, gum, implant, airway, or soft-tissue goal. It is not a one-size-fits-all procedure.

Patient-Focused Uses

  • Gum inflammation and periodontal maintenance support.
  • Soft-tissue procedures such as frenectomy or gingivectomy.
  • Implant maintenance and peri-implant tissue concerns.
  • Comfort-focused laser workflows for selected TMJ, airway, or healing needs.
